National Media slams Telangana Govt on farmer suicides

After slamming the Telangana Chief Minister KCR over the issue of media threats, today many of national media have criticized the new state of Telangana saying it has some bleak statistics now on the table.

They have slammed the government over 350 farmer suicides in a period of five months after the state formation on June 2 this year. At the same time, today even the opposition is arriving in House ready to attack the TRS government on the issue of farmers’ suicide.

The issues are including the massive power and water crisis which is resulting in those tragic deaths. National media has also stated that rather than working to address this issue, TRS government is trying to blame AP CM Chandrababu Naidu who has brought power supply on track in the state.

While it is not sure how KCR and his team of ministers have prepared for this onslaught, it is about time they come up with sensible responses and measures. With national media’s focus on Telangana state, it has become somewhat embarrassing for Telugu people.

Jagan’s Flop Show continues

Jagan's Flop Show continues

Jagan’s Flop Show continues

Leader of Opposition, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s plight continues to haunt him. The young leader who is desperate to make a mark on the people and throw mud on the government is continuously failing to do so. Jagan had announced ‘YSR Congress Poru Baata’ against the government for failing to fulfill all its electoral promises. But the response for the protests is very bleak.

Ground Reports suggests that the Poru Baata could not even force hardcore YSR Congress supporters to come on roads and demonstrate. For any instance we have a pack of 50 people who attended the program in Rajahmundry town and the biggest irony is that there are 20 Police men to avoid any untoward incident. The protest lasted for just 15 minutes and they dispersed in no time.

We have seen the local Sakshi reporters there trying to bring common people to the protest area trying to show bigger crowd on TV but they could not do it and finally cancelled the live telecast from Rajahmundry. With the electoral defeat, leaders trying to sneak out from the party and cadre totally disappointed, it will take a big deal for YS Jagan to steer the party.

KCR is healthy and No rift with KTR:Harish Rao

After KCR it was his nephew Harish rao who participated actively in Telanagana Movement. After KCR Harish has known to be the No. 2 in the TRS ever since its formation in 2001. But his position in the party became a subject of hot debate after Chandrasekhar Rao’s son Rama Rao entered active politics.

There were reports both Harish and KTR eyed on the CM chair and some even said that some sort of cold war was happening between the leaders. However, the news is far from truth. In an interview to a leading English daily, the Telangana minister for legislative affairs and irrigation Harish rao rubbished the allegations and said that the propaganda was made by the Opposition.

He added that reports of “differences” between them were only a creation of some vested interests aimed at creating a rift in their family. He also said that he and KTR loved to work under KCR’s leadership.

He further added that he and KTR have perfect understanding and both work together on all issues. The irrigation minister also said that it was too early to think about the nest Chief Minister of Telangana.. KCR is very healthy and he will rule the state for the next 15-20 years; Quipped Harish.

Hyderabad: Tech-savvy Telugu Desam Party, which initiated many pioneering information technology-driven activities in the party, is set to launch another novel exercise to select candidates for contesting the ensuing elections to state Assembly and Lok Sabha.

For the first time in the country, the TDP is introducing an Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) to enable party workers and also general voters to select a candidate of their choice to contest from a particular constituency.

The choice has to be made from among three names that will be listed by the party.

Interestingly, the TDP would also give a none of the above (NOTA) option to its party workers and general voters.

“This is akin to the primaries system followed in the USA.

We are the first party in the country to introduce IVRS to select contesting candidates,” TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu announced on Tuesday night.

The candidate who secures a majority of votes would be fielded by the party during the election. The system would be used even in Kuppam which happens to be Chandrababu Naidu’s Assembly constituency. ”

This is basically to get the pulse of the people and party workers about whom they wish to elect as their representative and bring the TDP back to power both in Telangana and Seemandhra regions,” Naidu said.

He said the TDP would soon launch its activities in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands where there are a sizeable number of Telugu people.

Currently, the party has a unit in the islands.

Mulayam opposes formation of Telangana

The Samajwadi Party on Monday voiced its opposition to the formation of a Telangana State. Its president Mulayam Singh Yadav said the party was opposed to division of States, as smaller units were prone to problems.

“We are against formation of small States. This creates new problems. The Naxal problem is because of this,” he said at a press conference here.

The SP has traditionally been opposed to reorganisation of States even as its major rival, the Bahujan Samaj Party, not only favoured the idea, but during its rule had passed a resolution in the Assembly for “trifurcation” of the State into Bundelkhand, Pashchim Pradesh and Purvanchal. At a recent Cabinet meeting, Union Minister Ajit Singh of the Rashtriya Lok Dal revived his demand for a Harit Pradesh to be carved out of western Uttar Pradesh, which is his area of influence.

Mr. Yadav, however, declined to comment on whether he would talk to Telugu Desam Party leader Chandrababu Naidu, who is now protesting the formation of Telangana. He was in touch with Mr. Naidu for forging a post-poll alliance for a third front, but he had no plans to speak to the TDP chief on the Telangana issue, he added.

KCR busy in Delhi as state burns

KCR busy in Delhi as state burns

Well it has more or less become like a custom for TRS chief K Chandra Shekar Rao to be far away from action whenever Telangana issue reaches its crescendo. It can be said that the main issue of Telangana was raked up by KCR when Andhra Pradesh and Telugu people were living peacefully.

When the whole of Hyderabad is witnessing tension over the Telangana activists’ counter-agitation against the Seemandhra employees’ agitation, the TRS chief is happily staying in Delhi even as his party cadres have no clue as to how they need to proceed and are in a state of confusion.

This was the same situation which happened during the Million March at Necklace Road in 2011. Sources say that the TRS president is involved in hectic negotiations with the Congress leadership over merger and package! But being a leader for such an important movement, staying away from the main action reflects KCR’s nature.
