Hyderabad: Lok Satta founder president Jayaprakash Narayan tired hard to forge an alliance with the TDP, but failed.
JP has even said that the alliance could not materialize due to “money politics”.
Lok Satta waited for indications form the TDP for alliance after JP called on TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu a couple of times. Lok Satta leaders waited for almost two weeks to hear form the TDP. But the TDP was deeply saddled in talks with BJP on alliance.
Growing desperate, JP tried to get TDP support at least for his candidature as Malkajgiri Lok Sabha candidate. But he failed miserably. This made JP fumble, particularly after reports of a triangular alliance between TDP, BJP and LSP did the rounds in mainstream media.
Both the BJP and TDP took enormous pain in cementing the alliance between themselves but completely ignored Lok Satta.
Then, JP tried to influence Chandrababu by making BJP president Rajnath Singh and senior leader Arun Jaitley speak to him on phone over the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha seat. But the BJP leaders’ efforts could not help JP and the TDP ticket went to owner of educational institutions Nalla Malla Reddy.
It is being said that Naidu has proposed merger of LSP with TDP, if JP wants the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha ticket. But JP did not agree to this.
