Tirupati: Tirupati JAC, the joint platform of all the Joint Action Committees spearheading the Samaikyandhra movement in Tirupati, has decided to seal the borders (Asta digbandhanam) of the temple town for 48 hours.
The Tirupati JAC has decided to seal the roads leading to Tirupati on August 28 and 29. The JAC clarified that though no inconvenience will be caused to the pilgrims plying from Tirupati to Tirumala, no vehicles will be allowed to enter or exit the temple town.
The JAC said that during these 48 hours, no private and government vehicles will be allowed to operate. Besides this, all educational institutions, business and commercial establishments, hotels, restaurants, petrol bunks, Central and state government offices will remain shut, the JAC said.
The JAC plans to halt all activities in the temple town for 48 hours.
Members of the JAC said they have decided to seal the borders of Tirupati to exert pressure on the Congress think tank to reverse the decision of bifurcation.
