Supreme Court to dig into AP bifurcation Today

With  formation of Telangana State is almost completed as even appointed day has been announced as June 2, the haphazard and unilateral manner of Centre in the bifurcation of the State is now under scrutiny. AP former CM, several leaders from AP, and lawyers have filed petitions in Apex Court against the division in a last-ditch effort.

Supreme Court is likely to take up the petitions filed by Kiran Kumar Reddy, various Andhra Pradesh MPs, lawyers against the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh today. Kiran’s camp is confident that the controversial AP Reorganization Bill 2013 will not stand before law as the Bill ‘flouts’ basic rules of Constitution. At the same time, issues like ‘common capital’ and ‘special powers to Governor’ need Constitutional Amendments, stress legal experts. The big question is how can Parliament take up a Bill rejected by Assembly and pass the Bill as Assembly is the basic structure of Federal System. All these aspects are going to be shot in the arm of United Andhra protagonists.

Now, all eyes are on Supreme Court’s comments on the issue. Anxious moments are prevailing in Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema. They’re hoping for something miracle to take place against the evil will of Congress. What will Supreme Court say Today over AP bifurcation? Stay tuned to us for live updates.
