Varanasi, Aug 20: Narendra Modi might be a figure surrounded by controversies and conspiracies, but for some he is a symbol of comfort, protection, strength and hope. Bundled in a parcel was that hope, along with prayers for their brother Narendra Modi in the form of a rakhi. No media gimmick, this gesture by the Muslim Mahila Foundation in Varanasi was filled with everything that a sister wished for her brother during Raksha Bandhan.
On July 29th, when the the political circuit speculated Modi’s presence in the constituency to give a boost to the party there in the Lok Sabha elections, the women of this organization had something else in mind-hope for peace. Urging him to work for the security of the country, they also insisted that he fought from Varanasi in the coming Lok Sabha elections.
The constituency, which is most important in UP accounts for 80 Lok Sabha seats and is presently being held by Murli Manohar Joshi. According to sources, the latter is likely to be offered an alternative seat to make way for Modi.
