Naidu to Start Indefinite Fast in New Delhi

Strongly opposing the ‘unilateral’ decision to divide the state by the centre , TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu has announced to launch indefinite fast from Monday ( October 7) in New Delhi, demanding the union government to address the concerns raised by agitating Seemandhra people against the bifurcation of state.

Addressing the press at his residence here on Friday, he asked the Congress why it endorsed the state division in the cabinet in a hurry when people of Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions were fighting tooth and nail protesting bifurcation. The basic objective of his fast in the national capital is to raise the issues — protection of the interests of seemandhra people in education, employment and river water sharing in divided state and expose the Congress party’s ‘political conspiracy’ to come to power by exploiting a contentious issue at national level. AP was not the ‘jagir’ of AICC President Sonia Gandhi. ‘My aim is to bring Congress a culprit before people.’

‘It is the responsibility of Congress to hold deliberations with cross sections of people before taking a final decision. But the party neither discussed with its own party leaders ,MPs and MLAs nor hold talks with stakeholders,’ Naidu said asked why the Antony Committee which was not visited the state even after one month of its creation. How could the centre take such an important decision sans the Committee’s report.

The TDP leader also found fault with the centre on its approval to the formation of Telangana in the cabinet meeting without prior intimation to the ministers. As per the standard procedure, the note on such sensitive issues should be circulated to cabinet members and take their opinion before giving nod to it. In this case, he said, the centre considered the issue a ‘tabled item’ ie- general issue which does not require consultation in the cabinet meeting.

In a scatching attack on YSR party President YS Jaganmohan Reddy, Naidu asked the former why he was not criticizing Sonia Gandhi and confined only to make wild allegations against him. He was nothing to do with the decision taken by the centre. It was Congress entered match fixing with TRS and YSR party. The two regional parties were performing based on the ‘script’ written by congress high command, he added.
