Ailing TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday night admitted to a hospital in the city and undergoing treatment for liver related problem- Jaundice.
The TDP leader was rushed to Asian Institute of Gastroenterology directly from Shamshabad airport after he landed from New Delhi. The hospital doctor D Nageshwara Reddy said Naidu was suffering from Jaundice. He had lost 4 Kgs of weight with marked wasting of body fat and muscle. However, his vitals are stable. The main concern is the Jaundice (abnormal liver function tests – Serum Bilirubin 2.5 with Direct 1.2 and Indirect bilirubin 1.3, SGOT 90 and SGPT 75) secondary to starvation.
Doctor said in addition his uric acid and LDH levels were high. Ketone bodies are still present. Naidu is being carefully monitored by a team of doctors including Liver specialist and nutrition specialist.
Naidu was discharged from hospital in the morning in New Delhi and returned to Hyderabad.On the fifth day of his hunger strike on Friday against bifurcation of state, the 63-year-old TDP chief was forcibly evicted by police from Andhra Bhavan in New Delhi and admitted to hospital. Naidu was on hunger strike on the premises since Monday to protest against bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
