Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy is going to make a last ditch effort to keep the state united when he meets Congress party president Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister tried to explain before the Antony Committee on Tuesday night how the Seemandhra movement was gaining momentum and it would further intensify if the Congress party did not take back its decision to form Telangana.
However, AICC incharge of Andhra affairs Digvijay Singh and Sonia Gandhi’s political advisor Ahmed Patel reportedly told Kiran that the decision to divide the state had already been taken and only Madam had the powers to rescind the decision, if she could.
And Ahmed Patel had arranged Kiran an appointment with Sonia on Wednesday morning. If the chief minister is able to convince the Madam to see that the decision to divide the state is revoked, he would become a hero in the Samaikyandhra movement. Otherwise, it could as well be Kiran’s last Delhi visit!
