Police foiled the YS Jagan indefinite fast on Wednesday night and shifted him to NIMS for treatment. Despite deteriorating health condition, Jagan continued deeksha on the fifth day at his house at Lotus Pond in the city.
On the advice of the doctors, police reached the deeksha site in the night and lifted Jagan from the spot. He was shifted to NIMS by an ambulance and admitted to intensive care unit. He will be administered intra venous fluids as he was dehydrated .
Jagan launched fast on Saturday demanding the centre to revoke its decision to bifurcate the state. Doctors, who attended on him and conducted tests, said that Jagan was suffering from fever and dehydration. He also complained of headache and back pain, with the declining sugar levels. He was advised to withdraw fast in view of the seriousness of health.
Speaking to newsmen, party senior leader K Ramakrishna alleged that Congress conspired to divide the state for political gains. Jagan has been fighting for united Andhra and continue his struggle against the Congress decision even after his dikshe was foiled forcefully by the police.
