Hyderabad, Aug.25: Stating that women were playing a pivotal role in the ongoing separate Telangana agitation, the Telangana Mahila JAC has lashed out at the Telugu Desam and YSR Congress parties for adopting dual standards on the Telangana issue.
Speaking to media persons here on Sunday, Telangana Mahila JAC leaders Ratnamala, K. Vimala, Mary Madiga, Gogu Shyamala and Telangana Rashtriya Lok Dal official spokesperson Sogara Begum said YSRCP honorary president Y S Vijayamma’s hunger strike against bifurcation of the State was shameless as that party took no objection to bifurcation of the State earlier and changing tune all of a sudden to woo the electorate in the Seemandhra region. They also took serious exception to Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s announcement that he would go on indefinite hunger strike in the Chanchalguda Jail.
The T Women JAC leaders also criticized the TDP leaders for participating in the Samaikyandhra agitation even as they had declared that the TDP was not against formation of Telangana State. They demanded that TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu discipline his party leaders and stand by his word.
Asserting that Hyderabad was Telangana people’s fathers’ property, they warned those who were advocating Union Territory status to Hyderabad to change their opinion. They also slammed the APNGOs leaders for participating in the “meaningless” Samaikyandhra agitation even after looting the job opportunities of the Telangana people.
The Telangana Women JAC leaders also expressed gratitude to the Union government on behalf of the families of Telangana martyrs for announcing that the process of formation of Telangana State has begun in deference to the wishes of the people of the region. They also urged the Centre to introduce Telangana Bill in Parliament and get it endorsed by it. They also appealed to the Seemandhra people to give up Samaikyandhra agitation and contribute for development of both the States and realize the fact that bifurcation of the State was only answer.
