Flash: BJP bends to Babu’s Pressure

After a lot of twists and turns, finally Bharatiya Janata Party and Telugu Desam Party stitched an alliance in Seemandhra. The ogoing turbulence in their pact once again proved to be a strom in tea cup. However, BJP has bent to the pressure imposed by alliance partner TDP’s chief Chandra Babu Naidu. Contrary to previous deal, BJP is now contesting in only 4 Lok Sabha seats and 13 Assembly seats. As part of the latest understanding, BJP has given up Ichchapuram Assembly segment to its partner TDP.

BJP state affairs incharge Prakash Javadekar has flown down from New Delhi to the state to held deliberations with top TDP brass. Prakash Javadekhar and BJP state unit chief Hari Babu have held discussion with TDP leaders Sujana Chowdary, Ram Mohan Rao at Venkaiaha Naidu’s residence. After the meet, Javadekar and Hari Babu clarified that alliance is not in trouble and put rest to rumours. Javadekar gently turned down the previous differences between two parties over seat-sharing as natural. BJP brass is confident that TDP-BJP alliance would prove win-win situation for both parties in both Telangana and Seemandhra.

With the latest clarity, TDP cadres and BJP cadres are going to work with double enthusiasm in the locales. The Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Telangana is slated for April 30 whereas they will be held on May 7 in Seemandhra. Recent NDTV-Hansa Research opinion poll predicted a clear majority for TDP-BJP alliance in Seemandhra besides many other surveys.
