Putting speculations to rest, Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde has set the record straight that the upcoming general elections will be taking place in United Andhra Pradesh only.
Speaking to media in New Delhi on Sunday, he said, “Elections will be held in the United State itself. The usual procedure for carving out of Telangana would take 3 more months. Election Commission will take final call on the elections.”
Veering towards the situation in AP, Shinde said, “We haven’t discussed about President’s rule in AP yet. We’re inclined to form new government till the elections. Our party will decide on who is going to be the next Chief Minister. I won’t get involved in that issue.” So, 2014 elections will be the last elections in the United Andhra Pradesh.
