Shocked with Union Tourism Minister K Chiranjeevi’s resignation letter faxed to Prime Minister’s office the other day, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh himself has called Megastar on phone.
Congress high command is trying to console all Seemandhra ministers and make them walk with party’s decision of splitting Andhra Pradesh state. However, a couple of ministers like Chiranjeevi and Pallam Raju are hell bent on their choice of quitting posts and party, after getting hurt by Cabinet’s approval of Telangana note. Reports have that PM Manmohan has called up Chiranjeevi on phone regarding his resignation, and asked him to not take decisions in a knee-jerk. Also PM is heard asking Chiru to take back his resignation and continue doing the good job as Tourism minister he is doing all these days.
Responding on PM’s requests, Chiranjeevi has simply rejected the very idea of continuing in the post, and confirmed that there is no option for him except resignation as Congress hurt him with their Telangana decision. Also another union cabinet minister from Seemandhra, Pallam Raju confirmed that he could not take back his resignation.
